Washington County Police continues to investigate the fatal accident on State Road 60

SALEM – The Washington County Sheriff’s Department officers continue to investigate a fatal traffic accident that occurred Saturday night near Salem on State Road 60.

At 10:05 p.m., officers responded to a head-on motor vehicle accident reported at the intersection of State Road 60 and Dog Trot road.

According to a press release from the Washington County Sheriff Brent Miller, 23-year-old Aron Dubois, 20-year-old Mayme Dubois and their two children, ages one and two, were traveling east on State Road 60 in a 2006 Honda SUV.

At the same time, 28-year-old Dakota Roby was traveling west in a 2013 Honda Civic.

Police said evidence at the scene indicated the vehicles struck each other head-on.

Dakota Roby died from his injuries at the scene.

Aron and Mayme Dubois were flown from the scene by medical helicopter to the University of Louisville Hospital. Their two children were transported to St. Vincent Hospital in Salem.

The accident remains under investigation.

The Washington County Sheriff’s Department was assisted by the Indiana State Police, Washington County Ambulance Service, Washington County Coroner’s Office, Salem Fire Department and Wilcox Wrecker Service.
