Indian Creek Township votes to give Fayetteville School to LCIS

FAYETTEVILLE – The Indian Creek Township advisory board voted to give the Fayetteville School to the Lawrence County Independent Schools during its meeting Monday evening.

After the vote, the crowd applauded the township officials. Gary Scherschel Indian Creek Township Trustee abstained from the vote.

The Lawrence County Independent Schools will vote to authorize the president and secretary to sign a purchase agreement with Indian Creek Township to purchase the property for $1.00.

“I know the Indian Creek Township board has put a lot of time and effort into researching this issue and topic. Likewise, LCIS has put in a tremendous amount of time preparing on behalf of the charter school. I can appreciate what they have done here also,” said Dawn Johnson resident of Indian Creek Township.

Indian Creek Township officials did not wish to comment any further saying the vote speaks for itself.
