BLOOMINGTON – The Bloomington Parks & Recreation Department announces Griffy Lake Boathouse opened Saturday.
Getting out on the lake is a perfect social distancing activity as the weather warms. Watercraft rentals (kayak, canoe, and stand-up paddleboard) must be made in advance; no walk-up rentals are permitted.
Call the Griffy Lake boathouse at 812-349-3732 during regular hours of operation Saturday and Sunday only in April, between 9 a.m. until 6 p.m. or you an now reserve watercraft outside of regular business hours by emailing griffy.boathouse@bloomington.in.gov.
For those of you who already own a kayak, canoe, or paddleboard, stop by the boathouse during open hours to buy your $8 day use permit.
Boat motors on Griffy Lake are limited to electric trolling motors only.
