BNL’s McKnight, Gomez named to Top 60

BNL senior Irye Gomez has been selected for the Hoosier Basketball Magazine Top 60 workout on Sunday.

BEDFORD – Bedford North Lawrence seniors Chloe McKnight and Irye Gomez have been named to the Hoosier Basketball Magazine Top 60 list.

McKnight, a senior on her way to Saint Francis, averaged 13.7 points, 4.6 rebounds and 2.6 steals per game as the Stars finished 22-3. She also finished fifth on the school’s career scoring list.

Gomez, a senior destined for Lindsey Wilson, averaged 12.0 points and 2.7 steals as BNL won its 10th straight sectional championship.

McKnight and Gomez will participate in the 40th annual Top 60 workout at Beech Grove on Sunday. The Top 60 is the final evaluation tool used in the selection process for the 2021 Indiana All-Star team.

BNL’s Chloe McKnight will compete in the Top 60 workout at Beech Grove.

The workout will be divided into two sessions. Half of the Top 60 girls, primarily from northern and southern Indiana, will participate in the first session from 1-3 p.m. The second session is scheduled from 3:30-5:30.

Beech Grove coach Kristin Raker will direct both sessions. Other Indiana high school coaches set be involved in the sessions include Vanita Golston (Hammond Noll), Scott Schoen (Silver Creek), Scott Smith (Jac-Cen-Del) and Kristi Ulrich (Penn).

Both sessions are open to the public for an admission fee of $8.00 ($5 for students).

Other players on the Top 60 list from the Hoosier Hills Conference include Addyson Kent (Jennings County) and Jade Nutley (Madison).
