Legal Help for the Public on Martin Luther King Jr. Day

(UNDATED) – On Monday, Jan. 20th Indiana State Bar Association members invite you to visit or call for a free legal consultation. Attorneys will be happy to discuss your legal issue, which may include any of the following topics:

  • Bankruptcy
  • Child support
  • Complaints again a city
  • Contract disputes
  • Divorce
  • Employment issues
  • Healthcare
  • Immigration
  • Landlord-tenant issues
  • Long-term care facilities
  • Mental health treatment
  • School law
  • Small claims
  • Social security
  • Wills and estates

Consultations typically are 15-20 minutes. Many legal issues are complicated, but the attorneys will do their best to point you in the right direction. They will give suggestions about your next steps, which forms to complete, the right government agency to contact, resources, and other advice to give you a general plan for solving your issue.

To get the most out of your free legal consultation, officials recommend being prepared with your specific questions are already written down. Volunteer attorneys work hard to answer every person’s questions, so the quicker you are able to ask your question, the more time your attorney will have to provide you with an answer.
