Kim Burgess Named New Executive Director of United Way of South Central Indiana

(BEDFORD) – The Board of Directors for the United Way of South Central Indiana announces the hiring of Kim Burgess as their new executive director.

Burgess has more than 25 years of experience in not-for-profits and government program management and is excited to assume her leadership role with United Way.

A native of Lawrence County, Kim has been recognized nationally for her leadership and contributions in Aquatics and promotion of drowning prevention programs throughout the State of Florida.

Kim returned to Bedford in early 2019 to be closer to family and raise her son, Clay who is a student at Bedford North Lawrence High School.

The United Way of South Central Indiana Board President, Andria Wenz stated, “We are pleased to have concluded our search with such an enthusiastic and experienced leader, as we have found in Kim.”

“Kim has the attitude and energy to provide a boost in community support for our organization, and will be instrumental in increasing the impact our United Way can have within Lawrence and Orange Counties,” she added.

A welcome reception will be held to introduce Kim Burgess to community members and non-profit agencies on December 16th from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the German American Bank located at 1502 I Street in Bedford.

This event is to thank the organization’s generous donors and the community to welcome Burguess.
