Antlerless County Deer Hunts

To maintain a healthy and thriving deer population in Indiana, strategic herd management is done on a county basis. The primary strategy in counties where deer populations need to be reduced is the increased harvest of female deer.

The bonus antlerless county quotas are set to allow hunters the opportunity to actively participate in deer herd management by harvesting additional antlerless deer.

Remember to check where you can hunt during the special antlerless firearms season. Counties that have historically been open for this season may have changed this year.

County bonus antlerless quotas were also reduced in response to the effects of epizootic hemorrhagic disease (EHD) on the deer herd this year. The special antlerless firearms season is only allowed in counties marked in green.
