Seymour Police Chief Bill Abbott Signs Off for Last Time as Chief

(SEYMOUR) – Seymour Police Chief Bill Abbott signaled 10-42 for the last time as police chief on Friday afternoon.

Seymour Police Department is the only department the 55-year-old chief has ever served.

He began his career with the department on August 25, 1989. He was appointed Chief of Police by Mayor Craig Luedeman and took the helm on January 1, 2008

Assistant Chief Craig Hayes will take over as interim chief until January when a newly elected mayor takes office.
