The Knights of Columbus is accepting donations for its 42nd annual Tootsie Roll Drive.

Since its beginning in 1978, the drive has raised more than $363,000 for local citizens with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

This year’s drive proceeds will provide educational devices for students with moderate and severe intellectual disabilities and sensory needs at Bedford Middle School and Bedford North Lawrence High School. Drive proceeds will also help Lawrence County Special Olympics and purchase equipment for the leather-working shop at the Lawrence County Arc, where adults with disabilities are provided an opportunity to learn work skills and earn a paycheck.

The Knights of Columbus would like to express its sincere appreciation to those individuals, businesses and organizations that have already contributed and welcomes additional donors.

Checks can be made payable to the Knights of Columbus Tootsie Roll Drive, and mailed to Knights of Columbus Council 1166, 2202 M St., Bedford IN, 47421.
