City of Bloomington Utilities Repaired Water Main Break on North Side

(BLOOMINGTON) City of Bloomington Utilities (CBU) crews have repaired a water main break near Marlin Elementary School (1655 E. Bethel Ln.).

Approximately 85 residences and the school were disconnected from water service Saturday afternoon while crews repaired the break.

Those customers are now under a precautionary Boil Water Advisory; unless otherwise notified, the precautionary Boil Water Advisory will be lifted at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 10.

Indiana Department of Environmental Management (IDEM) requires all public water systems to issue a Boil Water Advisory when a significant drop in pressure occurs in the water system.

Those affected should flush the internal plumbing by running cold water from a sink or tub until clear water flows.

It is recommended that all water used for drinking, cooking, and oral hygiene be brought to a full boil for five minutes before use, or use bottled water temporarily. It is not necessary to boil water for other uses.

Please see the City of Bloomington Utilities website at bloomington.in.gov/utilities for a map of affected addresses. If you have questions or concerns, please contact the City of Bloomington Utilities at 812-339-1444.
