Trapped Dog Rescued by Bloomington City Workers

(BLOOMINGTON) – Ollie’s wandering ways finally got the best of him.

According to Tom Macabe, of the Associated Press, the dachshund walked into a drainage pipe under a driveway Monday and couldn’t get out on his own.

The pipe was crushed at one end, making it impossible for Ollie to turn around. The dog’s owner wasn’t having any luck getting to him.

Three Bloomington Street Department employees and an animal control worker came to the rescue. Mike Stinson took the lead, using bolt cutters to remove the crushed portion of the pipe. He was eventually able to reach Ollie and, with the help of the others, pulled the dachshund to safety.

Once outside, Ollie seemed to be just fine.
