Bedford Community Band to Perform on July 4

(BEDFORD) – The Bedford Community Band will perform on July 4, 2019 at 5 p.m., following the Residue Band, at the Thornton Park Pavilion.

Music for the program will include patriotic tunes: “American Flourish,” “By Dawn’s Early Light,” “The Patriot” and “Armed Forces Salute.”

The concert will also include: “The Free Lance March,” “Bolero,” “Caribbean Nocturne,” “Snake Charmer” and “Mayflower Overture.”

The event is free. Attendees are asked to bring their own lawn chairs.

The Bedford Community Band is a volunteer music group composed of adult instrument players from the community and student musicians. The band is directed by Roger Gales, retired associate director of bands and music department chairman at Bedford North Lawrence High School, and assistant director Drew Bailey.

The band presents three concerts every summer. The final concert will be Aug. 4, 2019. The band welcomes new members for the third concert. Please come to the practices in the BNL band room Tuesdays from 7-9 p.m.
