Deadline To Enter Lawrence Co. Fair Queen Pageant Approaching

(BEDFORD) – The deadline to enter the Lawrence County Fair Queen Pageant is fast approaching. The deadline is June 17, 2019.

The queen will receive a $1,000 scholarship, first runner-up $750 and the second runner up wins $500, according to Pageant Committee Chairman Nancy Duncan.

The queen will also have an opportunity to be crowned Miss Indiana at the state fair queen contest.

Contestants must be women between the ages of 18 and 21, but they do not have to be members of 4-H.

Queen candidates will participate in a three-minute interview the afternoon of the contest with three judges who come from northern Indiana.

There will be an evening gown competition where contestants will either be asked to answer a random question or define what a word means to them.

The fair is also looking for queen court escorts between the ages of 6 and 8.

The young lady winning the title of Miss Congeniality receives $500, as well as a specially-designed piece of jewelry from J. Howard Jewelers.

The fair queen and her court will serve as hostesses at the fair July 13-20, 2019.

The Lawrence County Queen Pageant takes place on July 12, 2019 at Lawrence County Fairgrounds Expo Hall at 7 p.m. Cost to view the crowning is $3.
