Ivy Tech Invites Employers to Learn About Low-Cost Options to Skill-Up Current Personnel, Reduce Turnover

BLOOMINGTON – Ivy Tech Community College’s Bloomington campus is hosting an Achieve Your DegreeTM (AYD) Lunch and Learn information session on Tuesday, June 18 at 11 a.m., and all area employers and talent managers are invited to attend.

The session will be held at Ivy Tech Bloomington at 200 Daniels Way and will provide low-cost program options that can help employers obtain a more skilled and loyal workforce.

AYD, specifically, is a collaboration between Ivy Tech and employers to offer working adults the opportunity to earn a community college education and advance their careers within their companies, with no upfront costs.

“Many employers become concerned that once they hear ‘tuition-reimbursement or tuition-deferral,’ that they will not be able to afford to offer such perks to their employees, but there are funding options that can reduce the overall cost to offer educational advancement opportunities to their current workforces,” said Jessica Duncan, director of Achieve Your Degree at Ivy Tech Bloomington. “AYD can also provide employers with the ability to promote from within.”

Academic programs that will be covered during the information session, include biotechnology, electrical engineering, electronics technology, engineering technology, hospitality administration and culinary arts, kinesiology & exercise science, medical assisting, and optometric technology.

Some local employers that have partnered with Ivy Tech Bloomington to offer Achieve Your Degree™, include Artisan Electronics, Bell Trace Health and Living, Boston Scientific, Circle Prosco, Inc., Clipper & Soul, Cook Group, German American Bank, IU Credit Union, Old National Bank, Paoli Health & Living Community, Singota Solutions, Stonecroft Health Campus, and Hearthstone Health Campus.
