Police arrested 43-year-old Christopher Latimer on a warrant on charges of domestic battery and intimidation.
According to a Lawrence Superior Court II probable cause affidavit, on April 11, Indiana University Health Bedford Hospital emergency room physicians reported a woman was being treated for injuries from a domestic fight in the 600 block of West Warren Street in Mitchell.
The woman suffered bruises on her lower jaw and a large cut on her tongue.
The woman told Mitchell Police that on Tuesday, April 9th around 5 p.m. she was with Latimer who was staying with a woman at a home on West Warren Street. While speaking with Latimer, she claims he walked up to her and punched her. She attempted to leave and Latimer allegedly refused to let her leave. She told police she was able to break free and walk outside.
Latimer followed her outside yelling at her. She told police she went back into the home to clean herself up.
According to police, the next day, the woman drove Latimer to his daughter’s house and eventually went to the hospital after a friend’s urging.
Police found Latimer at Lowe’s where he was arrested. Police say Latimer was intoxicated. He was transported to a local hospital because he was highly intoxicated. The hospital reported Latimer’s blood-alcohol level was more than 0.028 percent and he could not be taken to jail and was released from police custody.
He was arrested again on Friday, April 12.
