Marlina Kay Malott – Bedford
Marlina Kay Malott, 62, passed away at 2:50 a.m. Friday, October 24, 2014, at her residence.
Born June 25, 1952, in Lawrence County, she was the daughter of Elmer and Bessie (Harris) Baker. She married Carl Edward “Ed” Malott. She retired from Visteon and received a degree from Ivy Tech.
Survivors include her husband, Ed Malott, Bedford; daughters, Lisa Kay Grace, Mitchell, Kerrie LeAnn Barlow, Bloomington, Michelle Lynn Canderan, Bloomington, Misty Dawn Brown, Fayetteville; grandchildren, Kayla Nicole Flynn, Kenneth Edward Grace, Kenna Rochelle Robertson, Dustin Adam Spradlin, Stephanie Sosbe, Coty Alan Bireley, Skylar Wayne Bireley, Eleesha Danielle Terry, Cloey Brieanne Jacox, Chance Atkins, Jonathon Barlow; great grandchildren, Alexis Lindley Lamb, Lamontika Lynn Robertson, Dashawn Markus Robertson, Sydney Marie Flynn, Sylis James Robertson, Nadilyn Rose Robertson
Her parents; and siblings, Betty Deweese, Susie Gammon, Mary Bundy, Roger McCoy, and Steven Baker, preceded her in death.

Paul Emery Flinn – Mitchell

Paul Emery Flinn, 75, passed away at 8:47 p.m. Thursday, October 23, 2014, at Mitchell Manor Living and Rehabilitation Center.
Born July 11, 1939, in Harrodsburg, he was the son of Opal and Marian (Robinson) Flinn. He married Mary Enochs September 25, 1965. Paul retired from the Indiana State Highway Department and was a 34-year member of Cornerstone Worship Center. He enjoyed singing in church and watching Indiana University basketball games.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Flinn, Mitchell; son, Adam Flinn, Bedford; daughters, Gina (Randy) Williams, Mitchell, Paula (Perry) Lagenour, Williams, Cindy (Corey) Housel, Mitchell;10 grandchildren, Lauren and Aubrey White, Mia and Avery Williams, Matthew and Jonathon Nikirk, Coty and Drew Lagenour, Coreena and Cade Housel; brother, Billy Flinn, Mitchell; sisters, Norma Albright, Mitchell, Helen Koontz, Bloomington, Anna (Claude) Long, Spencer, Bonnie Parker, Mitchell, Phyllis (Ronnie) White, Mitchell
His parents; brothers, Kenneth, Ralph, and Robert Flinn; and sisters, Linda and Barbara Flinn preceded him in death.
Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Monday, October 27, in the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home & Cremation Center with Pastors Rodney Reynolds and Gerald Flynn officiating. Burial will be in Mitchell Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday and from 11 a.m. until the service on Monday at the funeral home.

Sharon Sue Nicholson – Bedford
Sharon Sue Nicholson, 74, of Bedford, died at 3:45 a.m. Friday, October 24, 2014, at Garden Villa, Bedford.
Born March 28, 1940, in Bedford, she was the daughter of Oma Victor and Dorothy Fields. She married Melvin Nicholson on March 3, 1962; he died September 16, 1995. She was a member of Dive Christian Church, Bedford, and was a homemaker.
Surviving are four sons, Melvin (Lisa) Nicholson, Jr., Massachusetts; Otis (Michelle) Nicholson, Georgia; Jerry (Deana) Nicholson, Indiana; and Brian Nicholson, Georgia; one daughter, Terri (Terry) Kidd, Indiana; eight grandchildren, Craig Nicholson, Christina Nicholson, Otis Nicholson, Jr., Travis Kidd, Devin Nicholson, Hunter Moore, Zander Nicholson, and Cody Nicholson; two brothers, Larry Field and Bill Fields, both of Bedford; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one sister, in infancy, and one brother, Bob Fields.
Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Monday, October, 27, 2014, at Dive Christian Church with Johnny Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Dive Cemetery. Friends may call on Monday, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Church.

Will D. Fortner – Bedford
Will D. Fortner, 29, of Bedford, died Wednesday, October 22, 2014 at his residence.
Born May 3, 1985 in Elkton, MD, he was the son of William Fortner and Betty (Walker) Arthur. He was the co-owner of
the Olde Downtown Tavern and the New World Famous Hideaway Lounge.
Survivors include a son, Peyton Fortner; a daughter, Kyla Fortner; his mother, Betty, of Bedford; two sisters, Patty
Allen and husband, Bradley, of Bedford and Jean Hatcher of Mitchell; three nephews, Tyler Allen and Marcus Allen both of Bedford, Brayton Hatcher; a niece, Lexi Hatcher both of Mitchell.
He was preceded in death by his father, his paternal grandmother, Mary Melendez; an uncle, Kenneth Melendez; an aunt, Anna Melendez and a nephew, Kiven Gillespie.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 am on Tuesday, October 28th in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary. Burial will follow in Green Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 pm to 8 pm on Monday, October 27th at the Day & Carter Mortuary. The family asks that friends consider memorial contributions be made to the family to assist with expenses.

John Andis – Springville
John Andis, 86, of Springville, died at 10 a.m. on Thursday, October 23, 2014 at his residence.
Born January 1, 1928 in Springville, he was the son of Opher and Rosie (McFarland) Andis. He married Phyllis A. Banks on December 29, 1945 and she preceded him in death on October 15, 2013. He retired from Westinghouse and was a veteran of WW II serving with the U.S. Army. He was a member of Springville Trinity Pentecostal Church.
Survivors include three daughters, Bonnie Brassine, Shirley Abel and Sherri Shelton and husband, Max, all of Springville; a son, Johnny Andis and wife, Sandy, of Trinity Springs; thirteen grandchildren; forty-two great grandchildren; fourteen great great grandchildren; a brother, Jessie Andis and wife, Ann, of Paoli; three sisters, Mary Lou Thompson of Oolitic, Martha Howard of Paoli and Gladys Blake of Springville.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, two sons-in-law, Bill Abel and Gary Brassine; three brothers, Curt, Roy and Ray Andis.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. on Monday, October 27th in the Elmwood Chapel of Day & Carter Mortuary with Rev. Wendell Phillips. Burial will follow in Byers-Rainbolt Cemetery where military rites will be accorded by members of Gillen Post #33 American Legion and D.A.V. Chapter 2. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday, October 26th at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
