Gene R. Miller – Paoli
Gene R. Miller, 92, of Paoli, died Sunday, October 26, 2014 at his residence.
He was preceded in death by his wife of sixty years, Mary Jo (Fitzpatrick) Miller.
Graveside services will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, October 28th at Ames Chapel Cemetery. No calling hours are scheduled.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Day & Carter Mortuary.
Eva Ruth Knight – Bedford
Eva Ruth Knight, 52, passed away Sunday morning, October 26, 2014, at her residence.
Born July 27, 1962, in Bedford, she was the daughter of Leslie and Margueritte (Taylor) Knight.
Eva was a Section Eight Coordinator. She graduated from Mitchell High School in 1980 and a was also a graduate of Indiana University.
Survivors include her sister, Gayle Terrell, Mitchell; nieces and nephews, Randy Terrell, Laci Terrell, Jonathon Terrell, Amanda Terrell,Tyson Banks, Jerald Leatherman, Christopher Leatherman, several great nieces and nephews, special uncles, J. C. Knight, Fred Knight
Her parents and sisters, Terri Knight and Leslie Chambers, preceded her in death.
Graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, October 29, at Mitchell Cemetery with Rev. Ronnie Frost, Jr. officiating. Friends may call from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.

Freedona R. Sowders Scott – Bedford
Freedona R. (Sowder) Scott, “Granny”, 98, of Bedford died Sunday morning at her home.
born April 14, 1916 in Bartlettsville to Britle and Letitia Owens) Sowder. She married Tom Scott on December, 30, 1933 and he preceded her in death on July 29, 2994 after 61 years of marriage.
She attended a one-room school house in Bartlettsville, then Heltonville School. She retired from RCA in Bloomington. She was a member of Bartlettsville Christian Church and enjoyed quilting, gardening and reading.
Survivors include one son Wilson “Joe” and wife Connie Scott; three daughters Rheadawn and husband Leroy Young and Wilma Rife, of Heltonville and Jill Tuell, of Mitchell; one sister Mildred and husband Bill Acuff, of Heltonville; 12 grandchildren; 4 step grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren and 4 step great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sisters; Margaret Harden and Gladys in infancy; one son Thomas “Tubb” Scott, three grandchildren Tommy DAle Scott, Scotty and Shelly Rife; three brothers Sylvester, Gerald and Ray Sowders, one brother in infancy.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday and from 10 a.m. till the service time at 11 a.m. on Wednesday at Jones Funeral Home in Heltonville. Burial will follow at Bartlettsville Christian Cemetery with Bro. Jim Fisher officiating.
