The following obituaries were received for Friday –


Lila Mae Deckard – Mitchell
Lila Mae Deckard, 82, of Mitchell, formerly of Guthrie, died at 6:25 p.m. on Wednesday, October 26, 2011 at St. Vincent Dunn Hospital.
Born May 23, 1929, in Lawrence County, she was the daughter of Arthur and Mabel (Hawkins) Meadows. She married Floyd Deckard on June 13, 1946 and he preceded her in death on July 28, 1993. She was a homemaker, a Pink Lady volunteer at Dunn Memorial Hospital and a member of the Gulletts Creek Baptist Church.
Survivors include a son, Gary Deckard and wife, Martha, of Avoca; two daughters, Sherry Harris and husband, Larry, of Mitchell, Shelley Brim and husband, Bill, of Bedford; four grandchildren, Tina Wilson and husband, jay, Greg Deckard and wife, Dee Dee, all of Springville, Karston Brim, of Bedford, Minday Tibbett and husband, Mike, of Seymour; seven great grand children, Tyler and Whitney Wilson, Jarod, Drew and Haley Deckard, Owen Tibbett and Jay Jacoby.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Gerald Meadows and a sister, Othella Miller.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Saturday, October 29th in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Pastor Bill Brim officiating. Burial will follow in Judah Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday, October 28th at the Day & Carter Mortuary.

Ronald W. Horton – Mitchell
Ronald W. Horton, 61, of Mitchell, died at 8:36 a.m. Tuesday, October 25, 2011 at IU Health Bloomington Hospital.
Born November 2, 1949, in Seymour, he was the son of Buford and Myrtle Marie (Charles) Horton. He married Marsha Hillenburg on April 17, 1970 and she survives.
He was employed at RCA – Thompson Electronics in Bloomington for 28 years.
Surviving include his wife, Marsha Horton, of Mitchell; two sons, Anthony Horton and Joshua and his wife Tricia Horton, all of Mitchell; three granddaughters, Adriel, Drew and Kiel Horton; two sisters, Linda Riley and Jill Haws, both of Seymour; two uncles, Roger Lee Horton and Larry Horton, both of Bedford; one aunt, Mary Harper, of Kentucky.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Roger Horton.
Funeral services will be Monday, October 31, 2011 at 1 p.m. at the Ferguson-Lee Funeral Home. Burial will be in Dive Cemetery. Friends may call on Monday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Ferguson-Lee Funeral Home.

Genevieve Ann Wever – Bedford
Genevieve Ann Wever, 67, of Bedford went to be with our Lord and Savior at 10:06 a.m. Thursday, October 27, 2011 at IU Bedford Hospital.
Born December 7, 1943 in Lafayette, IN., she was the daughter of Joseph L. And Martha (Courter) Janz. She was a devoted and loyal employee at the Hoosier Hills Credit Union for 23 years. She was a member of the St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. Genevieve was passionate about spending time with her grandchildren and was a gift to all who knew her.
Survivors include a daughter, Jennifer Cpeda of Speedway; a son, Joey Wever and wife, Nancy, of Indianapolis; three grandsons, Aaron Lawrence Manuel Cepeda, of Speedway, Paul Joseph Wever and Coleman Oliver Wever, both of Indianapolis; three sisters, Mary L. Janz, of Speedway, Geraldine Rose and husband, Charlie, of Michigan, Gwendolyn Warner and husband, Max, of Fisher; five nieces and nephews; five great nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a son, Joseph Lawrence Wever.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Monday, October 31st at the St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church with Father Rick Eldred officiating. committal will be at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 1st at Washington Park East Mausoleum in Indianapolis. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday, October 30th at the Day & Carter Mortuary where a rosary will be conducted at 7:30 p.m.
The family asks that friends consider memorial contributions to St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church or the grandchildren’s college fund.
Cheryl Ann King – Mitchell
Cheryl Ann King, 63, passed away at 9:30 a.m. Friday, October 28, 2011, at her residence.
Born June 6, 1948, in Plainville, she was the daughter of Marjorie Reynolds. She
married Merlin King October 21, 1983.
She had been employed at Naval Surface Warfare – Crane. Cheryl was a charter and
lifetime member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 9107 Auxiliary and was also
a member of the American Legion Post No. 250 Auxiliary. She attended the Bride of
Christ Fellowship.
Surviving: husband, Merlin King, of Mitchell; children, Jacquelyn Cleek, of Mitchell, Dana King, of Mitchell, Aaron Kelsey, of Madison; stepchildren, Jolene and husband Junior Rayhill, of Mitchell, Ryan and wife Melanie King, of Bedford;11 grandchildren, 4 step grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren, 2 step great grandchildren; a sister, Linda and husband, Richard Starling, of Hardinsburg; a brother, Gary Bough, of Shoals.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Marjorie Bedeker; two sisters in infancy; and a stepdaughter, Evie Hill,
Casketbearers will be Nathan King, Nick King, Nevin Turpen, Kauge Cleek, Robin Drake, Tristan Kelsey and Austin Caudell.
Funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m. Monday, October 31, in the Memorial Chapel
of Chastain Funeral Home with Bro. Jerry Allen and Bro. Ted Hawkins officiating. Entombment will be at Cresthaven Memory Gardens.
Friends may call from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Sunday and from 11:30 a.m. until the service
on Monday at the funeral home.
A memorial service will be conducted by the VFW Post No. 9107 Auxiliary at 7:00
p.m. on Sunday.

Carolyn Sue Hack – Bedford
Carolyn Sue Hack, 74, of Bedford, passed away at 8:53 a.m. Thursday,October 27, 2011, at Indiana University Health Bedford Hospital.
Born September 20, 1937 in Goosetown, she was the daughter of Harry Woodrow “Woody” and Lucretia (Goen) Dalton. She married Kenneth Hack June 7, 1958.
She was a homemaker and had been employed at Lonnie’s Restaurant. She was a member of the Mitchell First Church of God, and the Christian Women Connection. She graduated from Tunnelton High School in 1955, was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, and enjoyed cooking and crafts.
Survivors include her husband, Kenneth Hack, of Bedford; children, Lisa Irene and husband Jim Sanders, of Shoals, William Kevin and wife Julia Hack, of Mitchell, Susan Kay Johnson, of Bloomington; Lori Lynn and husband Shane Troutman, of Mitchell;
Anthony Joe Hack, of Mitchell; grandchildren, Natalie and husband Jason Cotton, Brandon and wife Casey Hack, Megan Young, Scott Sanders, Kelly Sanders and husband Brett Rascoe, and ChristianTroutman; great grandchildren, Joshua Hack, Jakob Hack, Maisa Cotton, Christian Cotton, Lucas Sanders, Conner Rascoe, Emma Rascoe, and Kirstie Rascoe; brothers, Kenny Dalton, Buddha Jack Dalton, of LasVegas, Nevada; nephew, Kinley Hack, of Bedford.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Harry Eugene “Gene” Dalton; and sister, Donna Gentry.
Celebration of Life service will be at 4:00 p.m. Sunday, October 30, at the Mitchell
First Church of God with Bro. Kenny Dalton, Rev. Roland Holtsclaw, and Rev. Robert
Courson officiating. A private family graveside service will be at Mitchell Cemetery.
Friends may call from 2:00 p.m. until the service on Sunday at the Mitchell First
Church of God.
