BEDFORD — It is officially crunch time.
The shoes are being laced. The race-day playlists are being loaded. Training runs are turning into race-day nerves. And the starting line for the 2026 Limestone Capital Half Marathon, 5K and 1mile walk is just days away.

If you’ve been telling yourself, “Maybe I should sign up,” consider this your final push.
The Limestone Capital Half Marathon, 5K, and 1-mile walk are set for Saturday, Oct. 3, in downtown Bedford, and registration is still open at RunSignUp.
But the clock is ticking.
The Limestone Capital Half Marathon will get the action started at 8:05 a.m., followed by the 5K at 8:10 a.m. and the 1-mile walk at 8:15 a.m. Ainsley’s Angels participants will begin at 8 a.m.

All three events will start and finish near the historic Milwaukee Depot at 14th and J streets, putting downtown Bedford at the center of a morning packed with runners, walkers, music, cheering spectators, and plenty of excitement.
And you do not have to be a seasoned distance runner to be part of it.
The 13.1-mile half marathon is waiting for those ready to take on the challenge. The 5K offers a shorter but still exciting test. The 1-mile walk gives families, beginners, and anyone looking for a fun Saturday morning opportunity to join the crowd.
In other words, there is a starting line with your name on it.
The event has something for competitive runners, too, including a cash purse for top half-marathon finishers, a bonus for the top male and female Lawrence County finishers, and age-group awards.
But perhaps the biggest attraction is the atmosphere.
Downtown Bedford will become a celebration of running, community and competition as participants make their way through the course toward the finish line. Friends and family will be cheering. Music will be playing. Runners will be pushing themselves. And, if everything goes according to plan, a whole lot of people will be crossing that finish line with a huge smile on their faces.
Last year’s event drew more than 400 participants from nine states, and organizers are once again encouraging people to get involved.
There is just one problem for anyone still sitting on the fence:
Race day is almost here.
Registration is available through RunSignUp, and those who wait too long could miss their chance to be part of the action.
