BEDFORD — The North Lawrence Community Schools (NLCS) Board of Trustees has announced a series of upcoming public and executive meetings scheduled for early October to address district operations, extracurricular activity contracts, and confidential administrative matters.
The meeting schedule begins on Monday, Oct. 5, 2026, with a public hearing held jointly by the Board of Trustees and the North Lawrence Education Association. The session will start at 4:00 p.m. at the NLCS Administration Building, located at 460 W Street in Bedford, to discuss Extracurricular Activities (ECA) contracts.
The board will convene again on Thursday, Oct. 8, 2026, for a busy evening of sessions:
- 5:30 p.m. – Public Work Session: Trustees will meet at the administration building to discuss the ratification of the Extra-Curricular Activities (ECA) contracts. PDF
- 6:00 p.m. – Regular Session: The board will hold its standard public board meeting. PDF
- 7:00 p.m. (Approximate) – Executive Session: Immediately following the regular meeting, the board will enter a closed executive session pursuant to Indiana Code. PDF
According to the official meeting notice issued by Board President Adam Parsley, the executive session will cover three specific items permitted under state law:
- Real Property Transactions: Discussions regarding strategies for potential purchases, leases, transfers, exchanges, or sales of real property under IC § 5-14-1.5-6.1(b)(2)(D). PDF

All open public sessions will take place at the NLCS Administration Building on W Street. Members of the public are invited to attend the Oct. 5 public hearing and the Oct. 8 public work session and regular board meeting.
