LOOGOOTEE — The Martin County Recycling Center in Loogootee has announced its upcoming fall cleanup event, offering residents an opportunity to dispose of unwanted materials, drop off recyclables, and recycle aluminum cans for cash.
The two-day event will take place on Friday, October 9, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and Saturday, October 10, from 8:00 a.m. to noon.
Disposal rates for the cleanup are structured by load size:
- Small truckloads: $20
- Full-size truckloads: $30
- Trailers: $50
Standard recyclable materials will be accepted free of charge throughout the event. Additionally, the center will be purchasing aluminum cans from the public at a rate of 25 cents per pound.
Residents should note that additional disposal fees will apply for specific hard-to-recycle items, including tires, paint, and electronics. Yard waste will not be accepted during the fall cleanup.
