LOOGOOTEE — Anglers across Southern Indiana will take to the water next month for the Eli Newberry Memorial Fishing Tournament, scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 24, 2026, at West Boggs Lake.
The annual event honors the memory of Eli Newberry while raising funds to support local students through higher education scholarships.
Event Schedule and Registration
The tournament is subject to a strict 25-boat cap, and organizers strongly encourage participating teams to pre-register online rather than waiting until the morning of the event.
- Location: West Boggs Lake, Loogootee
- Check-In: Opens at 6:00 a.m.
- Tournament Hours: 7:45 a.m. to 3:45 p.m.
- Registration: Online pre-registration is available via Google Forms.
Raffles and Student Scholarship Program
In addition to competition on the lake, attendees and supporters can participate in on-site raffle drawings and a 50/50 raffle.
Proceeds from the event fund the Eli Newberry Memorial Scholarship, which provides financial assistance to college-age students pursuing higher education and career goals. Organizers are currently accepting scholarship applications and hope to formally announce this year’s recipient during the tournament festivities.
