INDIANAPOLIS — The Pacers Foundation, Indiana Fever, Purdue University, Indy Parks, and The Parks Alliance of Indianapolis are inviting community members to celebrate the unveiling of newly renovated basketball courts at Tarkington Park on Wednesday, Sept. 16.

The event marks the latest completion under the Pacers Foundation’s “State of Play” initiative, a statewide effort aimed at improving neighborhood recreation spaces and expanding access to sports and physical activity for youth and families across Indiana.
The celebration will feature a formal ribbon-cutting ceremony, guest speakers, community activation activities, and appearances by select Indiana Fever players alongside local civic leaders.

- 2:30 p.m. — Guest arrival and pre-event activities
- 3:05 p.m. — Official program begins
- 3:25 p.m. — Ribbon-cutting ceremony
- Parking: Attendees and media can park at North United Methodist Church (3808 N. Meridian St., Indianapolis).
Expected Speakers and Guests
Scheduled speakers include Rachel Simon, Chair of the Pacers Foundation Board of Directors; Indianapolis Mayor Joe Hogsett; Indiana Fever Head Coach Stephanie White; WNBA legend Tamika Catchings; Dr. David Umulis, Senior Vice Provost at Purdue University Indianapolis; Brittany Crone, Director of Indy Parks; Jenny Boyts, Executive Director of The Parks Alliance; and Eddie White of Pacers Sports & Entertainment.
Additional special guests in attendance will include Cory Martin, Executive Director of the Indiana State Police Alliance, along with local youth participants and neighborhood residents.
In the event of inclement weather, organizers noted that a formal cancellation notice will be issued prior to the event start time.
