BEDFORD — The Lawrence County Emergency Management Agency, alongside local first responders, will conduct its annual hazardous materials tabletop exercise on Friday morning.
The training session is scheduled from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at the Bedford Fire Department headquarters on H Street.
This year’s discussion will focus on emergency response coordination during a simulated transportation accident involving a major fertilizer spill that threatens a local creek.
Tabletop exercises allow emergency managers, fire departments, law enforcement, and environmental safety officials to review response protocols, practice inter-agency communication, and refine containment strategies in a controlled environment.
