LAWRENCE COUNTY — Local families received help preparing for the new school year during the Boys & Girls Club of Lawrence County’s annual Back to School Bash.
The event provided children and families with access to a variety of free services, activities and school supplies as students prepared to return to the classroom.
Children and families were able to take advantage of:
- Free haircuts
- Sports physicals
- Vision testing
- A vaccination clinic
- Games and activities
- School supplies

The Club said the event was made possible through donations from the community and the participation of vendors and community partners.
Organizers expressed their appreciation to everyone who donated school supplies or provided services and information during the event.
The Back to School Bash demonstrates the role community partnerships can play in helping local children begin the school year prepared and ready to learn.
