SALEM — Congresswoman Erin Houchin (IN-09) announced that her office has returned more than $10 million to constituents across Indiana’s Ninth District since taking office in 2023.

Congresswoman Houchin’s office regularly assists constituents with issues involving federal agencies, including the Social Security Administration (SSA), Internal Revenue Service (IRS), Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), and more. Through the constituent services program, the office helps people navigate and resolve issues ranging from slow response times and delayed tax refunds to Social Security benefits and complicated Department of State problems.
“For several years, we struggled with the IRS because Debra’s Social Security number had been incorrectly marked as deceased, causing our tax refunds to be held. With help from Congresswoman Houchin’s office, we were able to receive our refund for not just this year, but for each year it was held.
