LCI PTO to host Hot Wheels Races to support Blessing Bag program

BEDFORD — Get ready to race when the Lawrence County Independent School’s PTO hosts a Hot Wheels Races fundraiser on Saturday, Sept. 12, giving children and families an opportunity to have some fun while supporting a program that helps local students facing food insecurity.

The event will take place from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 223 Old Farm Road in Bedford.

The fundraiser will support the LCI PTO’s Blessing Bag program, which provides backpacks filled with food to students who may not have consistent access to meals outside of school. Money raised through the Hot Wheels Races will help the PTO continue providing these bags to children in need.

Participants can enter the races for $5 per racer or make a donation of non-perishable food items to support the Blessing Bag program.

Those planning to participate are asked to complete a registration form for each racer. A QR code for registration is included on the event flyer.

The event is designed to bring some friendly competition and fun to the community while raising awareness and support for an important need among local students.

Adding to the day’s activities, Soda Babe will be at the event from noon to 2 p.m., offering drinks for purchase.

The LCI PTO hopes the community will come out to cheer on the racers, enjoy the event, and help stock the Blessing Bags that are sent home with children experiencing food insecurity.

With a small entry fee or a donation of non-perishable food, community members can help make a difference for local students while enjoying an afternoon of Hot Wheels racing.
