BEDFORD — Car enthusiasts and families will have plenty to see and do when the Bedford Parks Department and WQRK 105.5 host the 20th Annual “Cruise into Fall” Car Show on Saturday, Sept. 19, at Thornton Park.
The annual event will bring together classic cars, trucks and other unique vehicles for a day of fun, food, contests and community fellowship. The car show will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., with registration for vehicle entries beginning at 9 a.m.
Entry for car participants is $20, while admission for spectators is free.
This year’s event will have an added purpose, with all proceeds benefiting Bedford Parks Department’s Fall Break Fun Day on Oct. 15.
Fall Break Fun Day is a free community event designed for local families who remain in town during fall break. The Bedford Parks Department provides lunch and works with community partners to create a day filled with activities and entertainment for families.
Organizers say the car show is an important fundraiser for helping make that event possible.
Plenty to See and Do
In addition to the wide variety of vehicles on display, the Cruise Into Fall Car Show will feature several award categories, giving participants plenty of opportunities to take home recognition.
Awards will include:
- Best in Show
- People’s Choice
- Parks Choice
- WQRK Choice
- Mayor’s Choice
- Longest Haul
- Pre-1960
- Best ’60s
- Best ’70s
- Best ’80s
- Best ’90s
- Best 2000s-Present
The event will also include a 50/50 raffle, door prizes for car entrants, audience giveaways, contests and games. One grand prize package will be included among the giveaways for attendees.
The first 50 car entrants will receive dash plaques, while the first 10 entrants will receive event T-shirts.
Food and Vendors
Visitors won’t have to go far to find something to eat or drink during the event. Food vendors will include Brown Bag BBQ and Pili’s Party Taco, while Boady’s Shake-Ups will offer drinks.
The event is designed to be more than just a car show, giving families and community members an opportunity to spend part of the day together while supporting a local cause.
Whether you’re bringing a vehicle to compete, looking at classic cars or simply looking for a free family-friendly activity, organizers are encouraging the community to come out and enjoy the 20th anniversary celebration.
