WellSpring to host open house for new Men’s House in Martinsville

MARTINSVILLE WellSpring Center is inviting Morgan County residents, local leaders, and supporters to an Open House showcasing its new Men’s House on Wednesday, August 19, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

The event will take place at the facility located at 301 West Harrison Street in Martinsville. Community members attending the open house will have the opportunity to tour the newly opened residence, meet staff members, and learn more about regional initiatives aimed at reducing homelessness and housing instability across Morgan County.

Expanding Housing Solutions in Morgan County

Operating as the Community Service Center of Morgan County, WellSpring has long served as a vital safety net for individuals and families experiencing homelessness or economic crisis.

Historically known for operating the county’s primary emergency shelter for families—featuring private apartment-style living spaces alongside case management—WellSpring’s service model focuses on transitioning residents from immediate emergency need to long-term self-sufficiency.

The addition of the new Men’s House expands the agency’s physical footprint and targeted transitional housing capacity, addressing a critical need for dedicated male housing support in the local area.

Comprehensive Support and Life Skills Coaching

Beyond providing safe physical shelter, WellSpring connects residents with wrap-around social services designed to address the underlying root causes of housing instability.

Services provided through WellSpring’s network include:

  • Success Coaching: Personalized weekly guidance focusing on employment acquisition, budgeting, and permanent housing search assistance.
  • Educational Workshops: Classes covering financial literacy, stress management, health, and life skills.
  • Resource Access: On-site computer access and library resources for job searches, benefit applications, and career development.
  • Food & Nutrition Support: Direct access to an on-site food pantry to ensure residents meet basic nutritional needs during their stay.
