BEDFORD — North Lawrence Community Schools recently received two grants from the Community Foundation of Lawrence County that will enhance educational opportunities for students.
The Bedford North Lawrence High School Music Boosters were awarded a $3,000 Impact Grant for the “Making the Stars Shine” project. The funding will be used to clean and repair brass instruments used by students, helping ensure they are in excellent condition throughout the school year.
In addition, North Lawrence Community Schools received a $2,000 Boost Grant to expand its StarLab portable planetarium program.
The grant will fund additional StarLab cylinders, allowing educators to introduce more astronomy, science and cross-curricular content while providing students with immersive learning experiences.
District officials said both grants will directly benefit students by improving access to quality educational resources and enriching classroom instruction.
