INDIANA — Hoosiers exploring state parks, forests, and shooting ranges can now earn rewards for their outdoor adventures through the Indiana Department of Natural Resources (DNR) Rewards program.
Designed to encourage engagement with the state’s natural resources, the free digital initiative lets participants accumulate points for activities they are already enjoying across Indiana.
How the Program Works
DNR Rewards officially replaced the former “Nature’s Passport” program, which was retired in 2024. The updated digital system offers more than 200 point-earning opportunities statewide.
Visitors can earn points through a wide range of activities, including:
- Overnight stays at Indiana State Park Inns
- Campsite bookings
- Visits to state forests and nature preserves
- Practice sessions at DNR public shooting ranges
- Watercraft rentals
Participants can check in at eligible DNR locations once every 24 hours to claim points. For instance, a check-in logged at Ouabache State Park at 3 p.m. on a Monday becomes eligible for another check-in at 3 p.m. on Tuesday.
Unlocking Perks and Getting Started
Once users accumulate 10,000 points, they can redeem them for rewards, such as a $25 gift card valid for Indiana State Park Inns or campsite rentals.
Signing up is free and integrated into the state’s official mobile platform:
- Download the Indiana DNR app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.
- Select the DNR Rewards tab.
- Enter your contact information to create a profile and begin checking in at participating DNR locations.
