JASPER — The Jasper Municipal Pool has gained international acclaim after being named a 2026 Dream Design winner by Aquatics International Magazine.
The award places the Southern Indiana facility in an elite class, selecting it as one of just 10 aquatic projects worldwide honored for innovation, layout, and community impact.
Replacing a Classic with Modern Innovation
The original municipal pool had served the area since the 1950s before reaching the end of its operational lifespan. City leaders opted to invest in a brand-new $9.4 million, 31,924-square-foot outdoor aquatic facility designed to meet modern recreational needs.
Designed by architecture firm Hafer in partnership with aquatic consultants Counsilman-Hunsaker, the updated facility officially opened to the public in May 2025.

Amenities and Community Impact
Since its debut, the pool has drawn record crowds, recording over 25,000 visitors in a single season. Built with multi-generational appeal in mind, the park features a mix of leisure, play, and fitness zones:
- Zero-Depth Entry Pool & Splash Area: Designed for young children and accessible entry.
- Active Water Features: Three water slides, a current loop, a small lap pool, and an aquatic ninja obstacle course.
- Guest Amenities: Expansive sunbathing decks, shaded lounge and picnic pavilions, and a modern bathhouse with concessions and administrative spaces.
“The City of Jasper’s outdoor pool had been a summer staple since the 1950s, but it had aged into disrepair… With its diverse offerings and overwhelming community support, the new pool has quickly become a go-to destination,” noted the Athletic Business Showcase.

Located at 1405 Bartley Street, the facility operates daily throughout the summer season, offering $5 daily admission alongside season passes for residents
