Columbus Police investigating suspicious death on Pearl Street; One suspect in custody

COLUMBUS The Columbus Police Department (CPD) has launched an investigation into a suspicious death following a welfare check at a home in the 1400 block of Pearl Street.

Officers were dispatched to the residence shortly after 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, July 21, to check on the welfare of a resident. Upon entering the home, officers discovered a deceased individual inside.

CPD detectives were immediately summoned to the scene to secure the residence and analyze the circumstances surrounding the individual’s death. Police have taken one suspect into custody in connection with the ongoing investigation, though authorities have not yet released the identity of the victim or the individual in custody.

The investigation remains active as detectives gather evidence and interview potential witnesses.
