BLOOMINGTON — The Greater Bloomington Chamber of Commerce will welcome Indiana Gov. Mike Braun as the featured speaker for its next Dignitary Discussions event on Monday, Aug. 17, at the Bloomington Convention Center.
The member-exclusive event, presented by German American Bank and Indiana University, is designed to connect business leaders with elected officials and policymakers to discuss issues affecting the region and the state’s economic future.
Doors will open at 11 a.m., with lunch served at 11:30 a.m. The program is scheduled to begin at noon and conclude at 1 p.m.
During the discussion, Braun is expected to address state-level issues affecting businesses, employers and communities across Bloomington, Monroe County and Indiana. Topics will include the state’s business climate, workforce development, economic growth, infrastructure, community investment and policies impacting employers throughout the state.
Braun, Indiana’s 52nd governor, previously represented Indiana in the U.S. Senate from 2019 to 2025. Before entering public office, he built a Jasper-based business into a national company, bringing private-sector experience to his roles in state and federal government.
The program will be moderated by Vanessa Green Sinders, president and CEO of the Indiana Chamber of Commerce. Additional remarks are expected from representatives of Indiana University and German American Bank.
The Greater Bloomington Chamber of Commerce said the Dignitary Discussions series is intended to provide members with direct access to public officials and influential leaders whose decisions help shape public policy, governance and the state’s business environment.
