Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra opens 44th Season of Kroger Symphony on the Prairie June 26 at Conner Prairie

INDIANAPOLIS — The Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra (ISO) will launch the 44th season of Kroger Symphony on the Prairie on June 26 at Conner Prairie, continuing one of central Indiana’s most beloved summer traditions. Running through Labor Day weekend, the outdoor concert series features performances by the ISO, nationally recognized tribute artists, family programming, patriotic celebrations, and fireworks. “Kroger Symphony on the Prairie has become a defining summer tradition for generations of Hoosiers,” said Sara Galer, Vice President of Marketing. “As we celebrate our 44th season, we look forward to welcoming audiences back for unforgettable evenings of music and community.”

The 2026 season opens June 26–27 with Face 2 Face: A Tribute to Billy Joel and Elton John, a high-energy celebration of two of popular music’s most iconic performers. Backed by the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra and featuring several new arrangements by conductor David Baker, the concert features beloved hits and symphonic arrangements under the summer sky.

The following weekend, the ISO will celebrate America’s 250th anniversary with Star-Spangled Symphony, featuring the Indianapolis Opera Chorus, tenor Jim Cornelison, and guest conductor Alfred Savia, culminating in the series’ signature fireworks and cannon finale. Additional season highlights include the ISO performing The Music of Star Wars, The Music of Earth, Wind & Fire, Yacht Rock Classics, and Disney in Concert featuring a preshow installment of the Teddy Bear Concert Series. Additional summer shows include Let’s Sing Sabrina & Harry, One Night of Queen, a tribute to the Beatles, the Phil Collins Experience, and more.
