BEDFORD — The Lawrence County community is invited to gather, share memories, and hit the road to celebrate the life, service, and legacy of a local hero.

Round 2 of “Ride On 47-30” Memorial Ride, honoring fallen Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department Deputy Brenten Trueblood. Deputy Trueblood was tragically killed at the age of 25 after a motorcycle accident on State Road 445, just west of the I-69 ramp, on Saturday, July 27, 2024.

Organized in part by Deputy Trueblood’s sister Kindalynn and her friend Kaleigh, the tribute event focuses on joy, connection, and the vibrant personality Trueblood brought to the community.
“We are coming together to remember Brenten, make memories, share an experience, tell a story, and take a selfie—because if you knew Brenten, he was all about the selfies,” his mother, Lakindra Harper shared.
The memorial ride is scheduled for September 12th, with kickstands up at 1:00 p.m. at Shorty’s Bar & Grill, 1300 7th Street, in Bedford.

The procession plans to make multiple stops along the route at a few of Deputy Trueblood’s favorite places. Participants are highly encouraged to come prepared with smiles and favorite stories to share at each destination.
Organizers are heavily emphasizing inclusivity and a strict non-monetary focus for the memorial procession. The guidelines for the day include:
- Everybody Welcome: Participation is wide open to the public. All types of vehicles, both motorcycles and passenger cars, are welcome to join the line.
- No Entry Fees: There is absolutely no charge to participate in the ride.
- No Donations Accepted: In keeping with the spirit of a pure community-driven remembrance, no money or financial donations will be accepted during this event.
The memorial serves as a powerful space for family, friends, law enforcement colleagues, and southern Indiana residents to connect, look back, and heal together. As community members prepare for the September ride, the overriding message from organizers remains rooted in gratitude and positivity:
“Make it a great day, REJOICE in all things!”
