Community Support Needed: Volunteers wanted for 51st Annual Limestone 5K

BEDFORD One of southern Indiana’s oldest and most historic road races is gearing up for its milestone year, and organizers are calling on the community to help make it a success. The 51st Annual Limestone 5K is officially seeking volunteers to assist with various race-day operations on Saturday, July 18th.

The historic event, which benefits the Boys & Girls Club of Lawrence County, will kick off at 8:00 a.m. Because every entry fee and donation directly helps local children, community volunteers are vital to keeping the event running smoothly. The race will begin and end at the Parkview Track, bringing a fast, competitive course and high energy to a flat residential neighborhood loop.

Critical Volunteer Roles Available

To ensure a safe and memorable experience for both runners and walkers, the Club is looking for dependable individuals to fill several key positions on the morning of the race:

  • Event Registration: Welcome participants, distribute race packets, and hand out the official event T-shirts before the starting gun.
  • Course Directing & Traffic Control: Keep participants safe and on track by guiding runners and managing traffic at key residential intersections.
  • Refreshment Stations: Serve much-needed hydration and snacks to participants at water stations along the course and at the finish line on the track.
