INDIANA — The red carpet was rolled out at the Indiana Convention Center as the Indiana Chamber of Commerce celebrated the 21st anniversary of its “Best Places to Work in Indiana” program. The star-studded event, themed “Walk of Fame,” brought together top employers from across the state to reveal the final rankings of this year’s most exceptional workplaces.
Among the night’s big winners was Bedford-based JA Benefits, LLC, an employee benefits firm that earned recognition in the “Small Category” (designated for companies with between 15 and 34 U.S. employees).

Presented by KSM (Katz, Sapper & Miller), the awards dinner honored companies in five distinct categories. The “Walk of Fame” theme allowed representatives from the winning organizations to receive the red carpet treatment, highlighting their commitment to workplace culture and employee satisfaction.
“Star employers were out tonight as we celebrated the companies that set the standard for what it means to be a top workplace in our state,” the Indiana Chamber noted regarding the 2026 honors.
For JA Benefits, LLC, the recognition solidifies its reputation as a premier employer in Southern Indiana. The firm provides specialized employee benefits consulting and has maintained a consistent presence in the Bedford community while competing on a statewide level for talent and workplace excellence.
The “Best Places to Work” program utilizes a two-part process to determine winners: evaluating a company’s workplace policies, practices, and demographics, alongside a comprehensive employee survey to measure the actual staff experience.
- JA Benefits LLC, a Bedford-based employee benefits company, small category (between 15 and 34 U.S. employees)
- CSpring, an IT services and consulting company in Indianapolis, small-medium category (between 35 and 74 U.S. employees)
- E-gineering, Inc., a custom software solutions provider in Indianapolis, medium category (between 75 and 249 U.S. employees)
- McGohan Brabender, an Indianapolis-based benefits broker, large category (between 250 and 999 U.S. employees)
- CAPTRUST, a financial management firm with Indiana locations in Chesterton and Indianapolis, major category (1,000 or more U.S. employees)
This was CSpring’s first time ascending to the top spot, while E-gineering, JA Benefits, McGohan Brabender, and CAPTRUST have all been No. 1 at least once before. For JA Benefits, it marked the sixth top finish in eight years.

“We’re proud to celebrate 150 Hoosier employers that consistently put their people first,” explains Indiana Chamber President and CEO Vanessa Green Sinders. “It’s inspiring to highlight the ways each organization is innovating and intentionally fostering workplace cultures that improve employees’ lives. Seeing the emphasis on meaningful amenities, open dialogue, and well-rounded support is incredibly encouraging – and offers a strong model for what’s possible.”
Winning organizations represent nearly 30 cities and towns, with multiple honorees coming from Bloomington, Carmel, Evansville, Fishers, Fort Wayne, Goshen, Indianapolis, Marion, Noblesville, South Bend, and Washington. In addition, several businesses have multiple Indiana locations.
The 2026 Best Places to Work in Indiana companies range in Hoosier employee count from 16 to 2,400. Honorees and rankings were determined through employer reports and a comprehensive, anonymous employee survey. The Workforce Research Group handled the selection process.
All companies that participated in the 2026 Best Places to Work program received an in-depth evaluation identifying strengths and weaknesses according to their employees. In turn, this report can be used in developing or enhancing employee retention and recruitment programs.
In addition to the May 13 awards, winners are recognized via a special section of the Indiana Chamber’s BizVoice® magazine and through Inside INdiana Business with Gerry Dick – both of which reach statewide audiences. Additional program partners are HR Indiana SHRM, Institute for Workforce Excellence, Wellness Council of Indiana, and Workforce Research Group.
