Governor Braun honors Hope Academy’s 20th Anniversary; Highlights recovery support

INDIANA – Governor Mike Braun visited Hope Academy to honor the school’s 20th anniversary, meet with students and staff, and present a proclamation recognizing April 30, 2026, as Hope Academy Day in Indiana.

Hope Academy, founded in 2006, is Indiana’s only recovery high school and has spent two decades providing a safe, supportive, and academically rigorous environment for students in recovery from substance use disorders. Hope Academy is a public school, one of Indiana’s many successful charter schools. The school combines accredited academics with evidence-based recovery services, helping students stay on track to graduate while building long-term health, stability, and success.

“Hope Academy gives students a place to learn, recover, and build a strong future. Every student deserves a path forward, and earning a diploma can open doors to a great career, further education, and a great life, and for 20 years, Hope Academy has been helping them on that path,” said Governor Mike Braun.

During the visit, Governor Braun toured the school, met with students and staff, and presented a proclamation honoring Hope Academy’s impact. The proclamation recognizes that Hope Academy has empowered more than 800 young people and their families through individualized education, recovery support, and life-changing resources.
