Indiana Wesleyan University president to read at America Reads the Bible national event

MARION — Indiana Wesleyan University (IWU) President Jon Kulaga, Ph.D., will participate in America Reads the Bible at the Museum of the Bible. This weeklong celebration of God’s Holy Word highlights Americans from all walks of life as they read the Bible cover-to-cover, from Genesis to Revelation.

Hosted by Christians Engaged, Great American Media, and 122 ministry partners, the event is being held from April 19–25, 2026, at the Museum of the Bible in Washington, D.C., a ministry partner of IWU. Following a kick-off celebration, the event will be livestreamed over seven days from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Great American Pure Flix. America Reads the Bible will highlight influential voices — from renowned celebrities to ordinary people — representing all 50 states reading scripture in honor of the 250th anniversary of the founding of the United States of America.

“Revelation 1:3, one of the verses I will be reading, says ‘Blessed is the one who reads aloud the words of this prophecy, and blessed are those who hear it and take to heart what is written in it, because the time is near.’ I am truly blessed and honored to represent Indiana Wesleyan University, sharing the Word of God with the nation, as a city built on a hill that cannot be hidden,” said Kulaga, who will be reading 2 John 1 through Revelation 1 on April 25 from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. during the final two hours of the event.

IWU President Dr. Jon Kulaga

Kulaga will be joined by a range of nearly 500 nationally recognized Christian leaders, public officials, and media voices such as Dr. Ben Carson, Kathy Ireland, Eric Metaxas, Fanchon Stinger, Colton Dixon, John Cooper of Skillet, and worship leaders Danny Gokey, Meredith Andrews, and Kim Walker-Smith.

“We are honored to be represented on the national stage as leaders in Christian education and Christian ministry amongst a cadre of high-caliber, biblically minded pioneers,” said Penny Callaway, executive director of government and strategic relations. “Through Dr. Kulaga, IWU gets to be salt and light to a world in desperate need of sound, scriptural Truth.”

The opportunity has been presented as a ministry partner of Museum of the Bible at no cost to the university. Viewers may register for the free livestream on Great American Pure Flix at https://www.pureflix.com/america-reads-the-bible-register.
