INDIANAPOLIS – The Indiana State Police hosted its annual Awards and Recognition Ceremony this morning in Indianapolis, honoring troopers across the state for exceptional service, dedication, and achievements that often go unnoticed by the public. The event recognized individuals who demonstrated exemplary commitment to the department and to Indiana’s citizens.

This year, Lowell Trooper Aidan Baker was honored with three major awards: the 2025 District DUI Award, the DUI Life Award – Top 5, and the Trooper of the District Award.
The District DUI Award is presented to the trooper in each district who records the highest number of DUI arrests. In 2025, Trooper Baker led the Lowell District with 151 DUI arrests. His efforts also earned him a place among the top troopers statewide, as he received the DUI Life Award – Top 5, recognizing the five highest-performing troopers in Indiana for DUI enforcement. With 151 arrests, Trooper Baker led all troopers throughout the state.
In addition, he was named the 2025 Lowell Trooper of the District, an honor bestowed upon one trooper per district who exemplifies professionalism, integrity, a strong work ethic, and meaningful community engagement. Award criteria include enforcement activity, arrests, case and crash investigations, public information initiatives, and community service. His outstanding contributions, both on and off the roadway, distinguished him among his peers and earned him this recognition.
Lt. Terrance Weems, Commander of the Lowell Post, praised Trooper Baker’s efforts in 2025, stating, “Trooper Baker’s work in 2025 set a strong example for our district. His dedication to keeping our roads safe is evident in everything he does, and I couldn’t be more proud of his accomplishments. We are grateful for his service to the community and his commitment to removing impaired drivers from our roadways.”
The Indiana State Police congratulate Trooper Baker for his dedication, leadership, and continued service to the citizens of Indiana.
