KNOX COUNTY – The Indiana Department of Transportation announces a road closure for State Road 159 in Knox County.
Beginning on or around Tuesday, April 21, crews will close State Road 159 at State Road 58 in Freelandville. This closure is for an emergency pipe replacement project.

During regular road maintenance operations, a failed pipe and sinkhole were discovered at this location. This emergency closure will allow for the removal, replacement of the pipe, and repair of the roadway.
This closure will begin after local school has begun in the area to allow for bus traffic. Work is expected to take three days to complete, depending on the weather.
The official detour for this project is State Road 58 to State Road 67. Local traffic will have access up to the point of closure. INDOT reminds drivers to slow down, use extra caution, and avoid distractions when traveling in and near work zones.
