BLOOMINGTON — A familiar blue presence is returning to the heart of Bloomington’s Saturday mornings. The Monroe County Democratic Party has confirmed it will maintain a major, continuing presence in “Information Alley” at the Bloomington Community Farmers Market throughout the 2026 season.

As the market prepares to kick off its outdoor run at Showers Common, local party leaders are calling for volunteers to help staff the booth, engage with the community, and share the “good word” about Democratic initiatives and candidates.
For the Monroe County Democrats, the weekly market booth is more than just a place to hand out literature. It serves as a vital community hub for meeting neighbors, making new acquaintances, and building the grassroots “resistance and resilience” necessary for the upcoming election cycles.
Volunteer Opportunities and Shift Details
To ensure the booth is consistently staffed from setup to teardown, the party has organized volunteer opportunities into two manageable Saturday morning shifts:
- Shift 1: 7:45 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. (Includes booth setup)
- Shift 2: 10:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. (Includes booth teardown)
Volunteers will be stationed in the designated Information Alley, located along 8th Street on the west side of the market. This area is specifically reserved for non-profits and community organizations to engage with the public.
