ORANGE COUNTY – The Orange County Economic Development Partnership is hosting a virtual meeting on Tuesday, March 31, regarding the impacts of Indiana’s Property Tax Reform on Orange County’s local government and businesses. The event will take place from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m., featuring Dr. Justin Ross, an Indiana University professor. Ross is a public finance economist who specializes in state and local tax policy.

Ross joined the O’Neill School of Public and Environmental Affairs in 2008 and teaches public revenue theory, public managerial economics, and benefit-cost analysis. He is a two-time recipient of the Indiana University Trustees Teaching Award and currently serves as director of the Ph.D. in Public Affairs and Joint Ph.D. in Public Policy programs. His primary research interests include property tax-related issues such as assessment and zoning.
The meeting is being offered virtually, and a calendar invite will be sent to those who RSVP. Ross has published works exploring how local governments use the property tax and its effects on politics, fiscal capacity, land-use regulation, and community decisions.
