BLOOMINGTON — As the school year winds down, families looking for a safe, inclusive, and high-energy summer experience won’t have to wait much longer. Registration for the highly anticipated Kid City summer camps is set to officially open on March 6.

Accredited by the American Camp Association (ACA), Kid City has earned a reputation for providing a diverse range of programming—from nature exploration to creative arts—all under the supervision of an enthusiastic team of counselors and a dedicated Camp Director.
Kid City offers three distinct tracks designed to meet the social and developmental needs of different age groups:
- Kid City Original (Grades K-4): Focused on discovery, this program introduces younger campers to the world around them. Daily activities are split into three core areas: nature and the outdoors, sports and games, and arts and media. Weekly field trips and special events round out the experience.
- Kid City Quest (Grades 5-7): Recognizing that middle-schoolers often want more independence, “Quest” provides a separate, dedicated space for older youth. The program emphasizes a “break from technology,” replacing screens with community participation, swimming, and leadership-building games.
- Counselor-in-Training (CIT): For teens looking to transition from camper to leader, the CIT program offers hands-on job training. Participants assist in planning camp events and gain valuable experience in childcare. Applications for the CIT program are due by April 7, with interviews scheduled to begin in May.
Organizers emphasize that Kid City is designed to be accessible to all local families. While fees vary based on the specific week and residency status, scholarships are available for qualified applicants to ensure no child is left out of the summer fun.
The goal is to provide a safe, active environment where kids can just be kids. Whether they are exploring a local park or crafting a masterpiece, every camper will leave with memories that last a lifetime.
