Free workshop at Lincoln Elementary aims to equip parents with tools for student success

BEDFORD — Parents and caregivers of students in North Lawrence Community Schools are invited to attend an upcoming workshop focused on helping children succeed academically and emotionally.

The event, titled “Preparing Our Kids for Success,” will be held on Friday, March 6, from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. at Lincoln Elementary School, 2014 F St. The program is open to parents and caregivers of all NLCS students and is free to attend.

Organizers say the workshop will provide practical strategies families can use to support their children both at home and in school. Topics will include effective ways to ensure children attend school regularly, methods to strengthen communication between home and school, and strategies for improving overall school performance.

Attendees will also learn how to implement a Homework Assignment Sheet or use an online homework information system to stay informed about classroom expectations. Additional discussion points will focus on recognizing the importance of structure in a child’s daily routine and understanding the signs of trauma that may affect learning and behavior.

The session will also encourage parents and caregivers to reflect on and rekindle their hopes and aspirations for their children’s futures.

Free childcare will be provided by NLCS staff members during the event.

Pre-registration is required. Participants can register by scanning the QR code provided or by visiting https://bit.ly/LCParentproject and completing the pre-registration form. Organizers will contact individuals after the form is submitted.

The event is presented in partnership with The Parent Project, an organization focused on equipping families with tools and support to strengthen family relationships and improve student outcomes.
