BEDFORD – North Lawrence Community Schools will operate on a two-hour delay schedule Tuesday, January 20 following Monday night’s national championship game.
District officials said the decision came after Tuesday’s school board meeting and reflects the high level of excitement expected across the community, with many students, families and staff anticipated to be up later than usual cheering on Indiana.

The delay applies to all students and staff, with the exception of Playful Pathways.
NLCS also reminded families that school will be in session Monday, Jan. 19, even though the date typically coincides with Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Officials said the district will hold classes because the day is being used as a snow make-up day, after built-in snow days were already used.
School leaders encouraged families to enjoy the game, celebrate safely and be ready to return Tuesday morning on the two-hour delay schedule.
