Registration opens for American Citizen Planner–Indiana 2026 Spring session

PAOLI – Registration is now open for the American Citizen Planner–Indiana 2026 Spring Session, an online training program designed to help residents strengthen their understanding of community planning and local government decision-making.

The American Citizen Planner–Indiana program is a self-paced, online course paired with live virtual webinars that guide participants through the roles and responsibilities of public officials, planning commissions, advisory boards, developers, and community members. The training also explores the tools and processes used to develop and implement comprehensive plans across Indiana communities.

The spring session will run from February through April 2026. Registration for the spring session opened January 8. Participants will complete online coursework and are required to attend live Zoom webinars held at 2 p.m. Eastern Time. Webinar dates for the spring session are scheduled for February 26 and March 26.

The program is ideal for current or future members of area plan commissions or boards of zoning appeals, elected officials, municipal or county staff, nonprofit professionals, and residents who want to become more engaged in local planning efforts.

Enrollment is available through extension.org by searching for “American Citizen Planner–Indiana 101.” The course fee is $200 and includes access to both required courses, all live webinars, and the final exam.
