Step-by-step workshop to help aspiring entrepreneurs launch their own businesses

FRENCH LICK – Aspiring entrepreneurs and small business owners are invited to take the next step toward turning an idea into reality at an upcoming workshop hosted by the Indiana Small Business Development Center in partnership with the Orange County Economic Development Partnership.

The interactive workshop, titled “How to Launch Your Own Business,” will be held on Thursday, January 29, 2026, from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at the Orange County Economic Development Partnership office, located at 505 S. Maple Street in French Lick. The session is designed to guide participants through the essential steps of starting a business, from shaping an initial idea to building a solid launch plan.

The workshop will be led by Grant Sherfick, an ISBDC ecosystem navigator and business advisor, who will guide attendees through key topics, including developing a business concept, understanding startup basics, and confidently taking the first steps as a business owner. The program is designed for individuals at any stage of the process, whether they are just beginning to explore entrepreneurship or ready to move forward with an existing idea.

In addition to the workshop, participants have the opportunity to schedule a free one-on-one advisory session with Sherfick during office hours prior to the event. These individual consultations provide personalized guidance and can help entrepreneurs address specific questions or challenges related to their business goals.

Registration is required for the workshop. Those interested can register by calling 812-936-3388 or by emailing clankford@ocedp.com. Organizers encourage anyone considering starting a business to take advantage of this free resource and gain practical tools to help move their ideas forward.
