INDIANAPOLIS — IU Health joined state and local leaders to celebrate the opening of the Mosaic Center, a new community-based career center located in the heart of the Indy Health District. The center is designed to create clear pathways into healthcare careers by offering free career training and financial coaching to individuals interested in entering or advancing within the field.

Powered by IU Health, the Mosaic Center aims to serve a wide range of people, including those who are unemployed, individuals reentering the workforce, and current IU Health employees seeking opportunities to build new skills and advance their careers. The center focuses on removing barriers that often prevent people from accessing stable, well-paying healthcare jobs.
“We are looking to engage those in our community who are unemployed and also our own IU Health staff who are looking to scale up,” said Shadreck Kamwendo, director of workforce development for the Mosaic Center. “This center will serve individuals who are beginning complex life transitions, those who are reentering the workforce, those who are seeking to build new skills and those who are overcoming systemic barriers.”
The Mosaic Center reflects IU Health’s broader commitment to workforce development and community health by investing directly in people and neighborhoods. By offering no-cost resources and personalized support, the center seeks to strengthen Indiana’s healthcare workforce while providing meaningful career opportunities for individuals across the community.
